Carnet

A carnet is an international customs document that allows for the temporary importation of goods without having to pay duties or taxes. It serves as a passport for goods, enabling them to cross international borders for a specific period without incurring tariffs.

In international trade, the most common type of carnet is the ATA Carnet, which is used for temporary imports such as trade shows, exhibitions, or professional equipment. Its significance lies in simplifying customs procedures, reducing costs, and facilitating smoother cross-border movements of goods, making it easier for businesses to engage in international trade and temporary exports.
